About North Barker

North Barker have considerable expertise in the local Government Planning Approvals Process and are familiar with many of the local planning Schemes. North Barker have had input into Planning for Hobart and Kingborough Councils.

We have developed close working relationships with some of Tasmania’s leading Planning Consultants and collaboratively prepared vegetation Management Plans for several large scale developments.

We understand the requirements of the Land Use Planning and Approvals Act and have successfully supported rezoning applications before the Resource Planning and Development Commission. The basis to our collaborative planning successes is the achievement of good conservation outcomes while also delivering viable developments.

Achievements

Hobart City Council Habitat Assessment and Viability Mapping Project was awarded Planning Institute of Australia - World Town Planning Day 2004 Planning Excellence Award for the category of 'Environmental Planning or Conservation' in Tasmania and received a Merit Award at the PIA National Awards for Planning Excellence 2005 in the Environmental Planning or Conservation Category.
